Catch limits (daily take, hand rod)
These details are a quick overview. The water regulations of your fishing permit are always binding.
Berlin Fisheries Act (state law): Per fishing day a total of 3 fish from the species eel and zander may be kept — not 3 each, but 3 combined from both species.
From the water regulations (LAVB / DAV permit): A total of 3 predator fish per day from pike, zander, carp and rainbow trout. Additionally: max. 2 asp; max. 1 brown trout, lake trout or grayling.
Zander appears in both rules. The stricter limit always applies — state law and association rules together determine the permitted daily take.

The fishing year at a glance.
Spring
Water temperature rises slowly. Perch move into shallow bays, pike finish spawning. Best time: from mid-April along weed edges.
Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
