History & character.
Character
Der Rummelsburger See ist eine 52 ha große Bucht der Spree zwischen Lichtenberg und Friedrichshain. Mit knapp 1,4 km Länge gehört er zu den größten innerstädtischen Stillwasserflächen Berlins und ist über eine schmale Mündung mit der Spree verbunden, was ihm einen halb-stehenden Charakter gibt.
Water structure
Maximale Tiefe 7 m, durchschnittlich 3 m. Schmale Form mit steilen Kanten am Westufer und flacheren Schilfzonen am Ostufer (Naturschutzbereich). Wasserqualität hat sich seit den 2000ern durch Sanierung deutlich verbessert.
Nature & history
Im 19. Jh. war Rummelsburg Industriestandort mit Färbereien und Lederwerken, was zu starker Belastung führte. Heute ist das Ufer Wohnquartier und Erholungsgebiet (bekannt aus dem DEFA-Film "Die Legende von Paul und Paula", 1973). Das Gewässer ist seit den 90ern DAV-Vereinsgewässer.

Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
