Ostufer nahe Pension am Orankesee. Flacher Sandgrund mit Krautfeldern, 2–3 m. Im Frühjahr und Spätsommer Barsch-Hotspot mit kleinen Gummifischen, ganzjährig Plötze und Brassen mit der Pose.

Strandbad-Bucht (Nordufer)

Carp · Tench · Pike
Nordufer auf Höhe Strandbad – sandig-kiesiger Grund, 2–3 m, mit Schilfgürtel an der Nordwest-Ecke. Ganzjährig auf Karpfen mit Boilie/Mais am Grund, Schleie morgens dicht am Schilf, abends Hecht und Aal in Richtung Mitte. Außerhalb der Badesaison gut beangelbar.

Südufer – Tiefste Stelle

Carp · Eel · Tench
Südufer am tiefsten Punkt des Sees (~4,5 m). Klassische Karpfen- und Aal-Strecke nach Sonnenuntergang. Ruhiger als die Strandbad-Seite, kaum Spaziergänger nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit.

Westufer Orankeseepark

Westufer mit Zugang über den Orankeseepark. Steile Uferböschung, ~3,5 m Tiefe schon nah am Ufer – ideal für Karpfen und Schleien direkt vom Steilhang. Im Sommer Plötze und Rotauge an der Pose, im Herbst Hechtgrund mit toten Köderfischen.

History & character.

Character

Der Orankesee ist ein 4 ha großer Stadtsee in Alt-Hohenschönhausen (Bezirk Lichtenberg). Zusammen mit dem nördlich angrenzenden Obersee bildet er das Zentrum des historischen Villenviertels Hohenschönhausen, um das herum sich seit 1898 die elegante Wohnbebauung entwickelte.

Water structure

Etwa 350 m lang, 150 m breit, max. 4,5 m tief. Ufer überwiegend bewohnt, im Süden 300 m langer Sandstrand des Strandbads Orankesee. Klares, mesotrophes Wasser. Kein Zufluss, grundwassergespeist.

Nature & history

Der See entstand in der letzten Eiszeit. 1925 entstand das Strandbad Orankesee mit aus der Ostsee herangeschafftem Sand – eine Berliner Besonderheit. Das umliegende Villenviertel ist heute denkmalgeschützt.
