Character
Träge fließender, breiter Hauptarm der Spree zwischen Lübben und Lübbenau – das eigentliche Kanu-Mekka ist hier zugleich Top-Hechtgewässer.
Water structure
Ca. 35 km zwischen Lübben und Lübbenau, 15–40 m breit, 1,5–4 m tief. Sandig-schlammige Sohle, dichte Krautfelder, Seerosenfelder, viele Auswaschungen unter Stegen.
Nature & history
UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat seit 1991. Spreewaldfischer bewirtschaften das Gewässer in über 12. Generation – traditioneller Reusenfang neben Angelnutzung.

Spring
Water temperature rises slowly. Perch move into shallow bays, pike finish spawning. Best time: from mid-April along weed edges.
Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
