Mittelgroßer, flacher See südlich von Märkisch Buchholz im Übergang zum Spreewald-Tiefland; ruhig, wenig Bootsverkehr.
Water structure
260 ha Fläche, max. 8 m, Ø 3 m. Schlammig-sandige Sohle, dichte Krautfelder im Sommer, ausgedehnte Schilfgürtel an Nord- und Ostufer.
Nature & history
Glaziale Senke; Verbindung zur Spree über den künstlich angelegten Köthener Kanal (1840er). Bewirtschaftung durch Fischereibetrieb Hönow.

Spring
Water temperature rises slowly. Perch move into shallow bays, pike finish spawning. Best time: from mid-April along weed edges.
Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
