From the water regulations (LAVB / DAV permit): A total of 3 predator fish per day from pike, zander, carp and rainbow trout. Additionally: max. 2 asp; max. 1 brown trout, lake trout or grayling.

History & character.
Character
The Schlaube is a 20 km stream in the Schlaubetal nature park. It rises in the Wirchenwiesen meadows and, after passing through the Schlaubetal lake chain, flows via Müllrose into the Friedrich-Wilhelm Canal. It is one of the most natural and most scenic flowing waters in Brandenburg.
Water structure
Narrow, winding stream 2–5 m wide with a gravelly, stony bed, many pools and current edges. In the gorge sections valley walls reach up to 30 m. Shaded by alder and beech. Several mill ponds break up the run.
Nature & history
Medieval mill stretch belonging to Neuzelle Monastery. Today the heart of the Schlaubetal nature park with European protection status (FFH/SPA). The brown trout population has recovered since the 1990s thanks to restocking and habitat work.
The fishing year at a glance.
Spring
Water temperature rises slowly. Perch move into shallow bays, pike finish spawning. Best time: from mid-April along weed edges.
Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
