Werbellinsee – Tiefwasser-Spot Kleine Maräne & Quappe

Der Werbellinsee ist mit 55 m einer der tiefsten Seen Brandenburgs (781 ha, 9,52 km lang). In den tiefen Bereichen sind Kleine Maräne und Quappe heimisch. Mit Boot und Echolot lassen sich Tiefenstrukturen gezielt befischen.
Werbellinsee – Ostufer-Bucht bei Westwind
Schöne Bucht am Ostufer, in die bei Westwind Plankton und Kleinfische gedrückt werden – Räuber folgen. Klassischer Spot für Hecht, Barsch und Plötze bei stabiler Westwindlage. Datschen am Ufer als Orientierungspunkte.

History & character.
Character
Der Werbellinsee im Barnimer Land gehört zu den klarsten Seen Brandenburgs. Mit seiner beeindruckenden Sichttiefe von bis zu 7 Metern und einer maximalen Tiefe von 55 m ist er ein Gewässer der Superlative – eingebettet in dichte Buchenwälder des Biosphärenreservats Schorfheide-Chorin.
Water structure
Das Seebecken fällt an vielen Stellen steil ab, was dem See seinen Rinnencharakter verleiht. Der Untergrund ist überwiegend sandig-kiesig mit klarem Wasser. Unterwasserkanten und Plateaus in 8–15 m Tiefe sind die entscheidenden Strukturen für Maränen und Barsche. Krautbewuchs findet sich hauptsächlich in den flacheren Buchten am Nord- und Südufer.
Nature & history
Fontane nannte ihn das „Auge der Mark“ – der Werbellinsee entstand während der letzten Eiszeit als Rinnensee. Er liegt vollständig im UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat Schorfheide-Chorin und ist von alten Buchenwäldern umgeben, die zum Weltnaturerbe zählen. Das legendäre Maränen-Angeln im Winter hat hier eine jahrzehntelange Tradition.
