History & character.
Character
Schmaler, langsam fließender Kanal mit alten Steinbuhnen, Schleusenkesseln und urigem Industriecharme zwischen Eberswalde und Liebenwalde.
Water structure
Durchschnittlich 25–30 m breit, 2–3 m tief; Sohle aus Schlamm und Kies, Ufer wechseln zwischen Spundwand, Naturufer und Schilf.
Nature & history
Bereits 1605–1620 unter Kurfürst Joachim Friedrich gebaut, später von Friedrich II. modernisiert. Zur DDR-Zeit Industriewasserstraße, heute Erholungs- und Anglergewässer der Schorfheide-Region.

Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
