History & character.
Character
Der Große Glubigsee ist mit 58 ha und einer Maximaltiefe von 13 m das prägende Gewässer der gleichnamigen Seenkette südlich des Scharmützelsees. Der See liegt vollständig im Naturschutzgebiet Dahme-Heideseen und ist von dichtem Mischwald umgeben.
Water structure
Klassischer Klarwasser-Waldsee in Nord-Nord-Ost / Süd-Süd-West-Erstreckung (1.210 m Länge, 740 m Breite). Mittlere Tiefe ca. 7 m, max. 13 m. Volumen 2,66 Mio. m³. Steilkanten am Westufer, flachere Buchten im Norden und Süden mit Schilf. Über das Mühlenfließ ist der See mit weiteren Glubigseen, der Dahme und letztlich der Spree verbunden.
Nature & history
Mehrere Stege am Südostufer sind frei zugänglich und beliebte Angelplätze. Der See gilt als gesundes Hechtgewässer – Hecht steht an der Spitze der Nahrungspyramide. Wer eine Monatskarte oder Jahreskarte löst, bekommt zusätzlich die Erlaubnis zum Nachtangeln.

Spring
Water temperature rises slowly. Perch move into shallow bays, pike finish spawning. Best time: from mid-April along weed edges.
Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
