History & character.
Character
Der Große Wannsee im Südwesten Berlins ist weltbekannt für sein Strandbad, aber auch ein hervorragendes Angelgewässer. Als Havelbucht verbindet er urbanes Flair mit überraschend guten Fangmöglichkeiten. Die Wasserfläche von 2,7 km² bietet auf engem Raum vielfältige Angelplätze.
Water structure
Die Tiefenstruktur wird durch den Haveleinfluss geprägt – die Fahrrinne im Westteil erreicht bis zu 9 m Tiefe, während die östlichen Buchten flach und krautreich sind. Der Seegrund wechselt zwischen Sand in der Rinne und Schlick in den Randbereichen. Steganlagen und Bootsanleger bieten zusätzliche Unterwasserstrukturen für Barsche und Zander.
Nature & history
Der Wannsee ist eigentlich eine Bucht der Havel und war bereits im 19. Jahrhundert ein Hotspot der Berliner Badekultur. Das berühmte Strandbad Wannsee wurde 1907 eröffnet. Am Ufer liegt die Villa der Wannseekonferenz, heute eine Gedenkstätte. Die Pfaueninsel im Süden gehört zum UNESCO-Welterbe.
