History & character.
Character
Der Zeuthener See liegt direkt an der südöstlichen Berliner Stadtgrenze zwischen Eichwalde und Zeuthen. Als Teil der Dahme-Wasserstraße bietet der 1,1 km² große See trotz seiner Nähe zur Großstadt ein überraschend gutes Angelrevier mit starken Zanderbeständen und respektablen Hechten.
Water structure
Der Zeuthener See ist ein durchflossener See mit Dahme-Zufluss – das sorgt für ständige Wasserumwälzung und gute Sauerstoffversorgung. Bei maximal 6 m Tiefe ist der Seegrund überwiegend sandig. Steganlagen und Bootshäuser am Westufer schaffen künstliche Strukturen, die Barsche und Zander anziehen. Die Schilfkanten am Ostufer sind Hechtrevier.
Nature & history
Der Zeuthener See war im 19. Jahrhundert ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel der Berliner Gesellschaft. Zeuthen wurde in den 1920er-Jahren durch das Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institut (heute DESY) bekannt. Die Dahme-Wasserstraße verbindet den See mit dem Berliner Gewässersystem bis zur Spree und macht ihn per Boot erreichbar.
