History & character.
Character
Die Krumme Lanke ist ein 15,4 ha großer Waldsee am Rand des Grunewalds in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. Mit knapp 1.100 m Länge und nur 100–200 m Breite ist sie ein typischer Schlauchsee aus der Glazialrinne. Sie gehört zur Grunewaldseenkette und ist über einen unterirdischen Durchlass mit dem benachbarten Schlachtensee verbunden.
Water structure
Maximale Tiefe 6,6 m, schmal und langgestreckt. Dichte Krautfelder im flachen Süden und Norden, freier Mittelbereich. Das Ufer ist überwiegend bewaldet und naturnah, was die Krumme Lanke zu einem der schönsten Stadtwälder Berlins macht.
Nature & history
Der See entstand wie der Schlachtensee in der letzten Eiszeit. Im Sommer beliebter FKK- und Badesee mit zwei offiziellen Badestellen am West- und Südufer. Seit Jahrzehnten vom AV Wels e.V. bewirtschaftet, gemeinsam mit dem Schlachtensee.

Water temperature rises slowly. Perch move into shallow bays, pike finish spawning. Best time: from mid-April along weed edges.
Summer
Warm and nutrient-rich. Predators bite early morning or evening. Night fishing for eel and catfish is most productive now.
Autumn
Pike and zander feed up for winter. Large soft swimbaits & a slow presentation get the big ones now.
Winter
Cold and clear. Target species in deeper troughs. Vertical jigging from the boat or a bottom rig at dusk give the best chances.
